Walking on a dream

Last night I went out with Kaity and Lisa for karaoke and it was hilarious. Don't worry, I didn't sing anything! ;) But, I did do the Cupid Shuffle! I don't think I'll ever be tired of that dance, it reminds me of fun and crazy times with friends two summers ago!

In between listening dancing and listening to people sing horribly, we managed to get a few pictures!

Now I've gotta get to bed....I have a doctor appointment tomorrow morning (yearly checkup) and since it's 2 hours away, I need to wake up way earlier than I'd like. Justin's coming with me and we're going to visit my mom afterwards, so it should still be a fun day :)

It's been a busy week for me so far!

On Sunday I went with Kaity and her friend Krystal down to Fort Madison. The plan was to clean Kaity's classroom. We ended up taking everything out of the supply closet and it was ridiculous how much stuff we found in there! Boxes and more boxes, all full of art supplies...I don't think she's going to have to buy much more.

By far the best thing we found was a set of famous art masks. I decided to try on 'The Scream' :D

Besides that I've been working the past few days...today I seriously had 10 returns in a row to take care of, it was crazy! Tomorrow is my day off though, so Justin and I are going to have a date day. :)

The past few days have been busy, busy!

First, a lovely picture to show you all:



It's a nutcracker doll....they're so creepy! Something about their teeth that go chomp chomp and the scary looks on their faces..uggh. My friend/coworker Cassie thinks it's hilarious and made me this drawing....lol not as creepy as the real thing though!

I went with Kaity late last week to a teaching interview at a school 3 hours away. The ride was hilarious, we had some really good discussions about art and I read us random articles out of an old Seventeen magazine while she drove.

We went shopping after the interview and both found some really cute clothes and accessories. Then while in the dressing room of Ragstock, Kaity got a call from the school she interviewed at....she got the job!! She's going to be an art teacher and I'm so happy for her :) We were jumping up and down outside the dressing room and shrieking like fools about the news...the people working at Ragstock probably thought we were crazy!

Yesterday my friend Jan and I hung out with my roomies for awhile. After having pizza we decided it was time for a random shopping trip. We bought parachute animals, bubbles, and water guns....yeah, we're cool.

After tossing the parachute animals down to the second floor of my building way too many times, we decided it would be fun (and wicked) of us to go attack Justin with our new water guns. We snuck up next to his car and called him. When he opened the door he saw us grinning back at him while spraying his car. Then we attacked him, until he stole our guns and got us back!

Today I've been having a lazy day of sorts. While catching up on my reading I noticed this little grasshopper spying on me from the window:

Found that at a vintage store...very simple and elegant...kinda the opposite of my usual jewelry, but I like it.

Wow, this ended up being a really long entry! I'm gonna say good night now and get back to my reading. Here's one more picture for you. It's of tonight's gorgeous sunset, taken out my bedroom window!

So is it weird that Justin and I are sitting here singing a song we saw/heard on It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia? Probably. But I like it.

I just discovered that I could have seen Tool, my favorite band ever, if only I had known they were on tour and only 4 hours away! Gah, I've been wanting to see them forever....now I have to wait at least another year!

In other news, one of our mice, Lady Gaga died last week. So now we only have Ke$ha. I think she misses her sister, but we put a stuffed monkey next to the cage so she won't be as lonely.

Both of my roommates are gone right now...it's kinda weird having the apartment to myself. I'm not technically alone most of the time though, because Justin is here a lot. Like right now :)

I'll try to be back tomorrow with a more interesting post...maybe an outfit picture or two...we shall see!

Just a quick post to let everyone know I'm still here!

I've been working and hanging out with Justin and my friends :)

Excitement such as:

* A night out for Kaity's birthday...one of my besties. She's pretty much my twin...we're both really artsy and random...the only difference is she has blue hair :D
We sang Bad Romance and danced around like idiots because it was karaoke night. SO MUCH FUN!

* Another night out, this time with Justin, a bunch of his friends, and my roomie April. We played pool for awhile (I beat Justin once, go me!) Then we came back to our apartment and played some beer pong and Wii Fit.

*Yesterday Justin and I went to this awesome vintage store, where I found two rock magazines from 1979. Score! Then we met up with our friend Cassie to eat popsicles and go to a playground. When we got there the merry-go-round was spinning by itself, there was nobody else there! It was so creepy that Justin took a video of it on his phone....lol.

Anywho, that's what I've been up to!

Riders on the storm

There's a big thunderstorm going on here right now, lightning is flashing like every 3 seconds....scary!

Yesterday Justin, April and I went to a museum and then wandered around downtown. The museum was fun, they had all kinds of animals and in the gift shop I found a really creepy but cool stuffed raven. I wanted him but he scared April so I'm not allowed to bring him into our apartment...haha. Downtown was ok, there wasn't much to see. We did find a coffeehouse though, so we took the time to get drinks!

Today Justin and I went to visit his parents for an early Father's Day celebration. His dad liked the movie and card we found for him. Now we're sitting on the couch watching Ice Age 2 with April....see?



Yeah, the glasses are making an appearance...I already took my contacts out for the night. :P

I got you babe

Sitting in my kitchen right now, got off work about 2 hours ago. I've been listening to old music with the roomies and watching the second Ninja Turtles movie since then...haha.

Last night Justin and I went out for a beer. I don't drink a lot, but I miss the atmosphere of being in a bar....it reminds me of fun nights out with friends the past few summers. :)

I have two days off now, tomorrow and Thursday! I'm excited....I need to think of something fun to do!!
